The Stone Monkeys are climbers of various levels from the ambitious beginner to the advanced, nationally ranked climber ranging from 9 to 17 years old. The Stone Monkeys Senior Team competes in the American Bouldering Series as well as the Sport Climbing Series, run by USA Climbing.
The Stone Monkeys were the Regional Champs for the Southwest Regional Sport Climbing Series in 2005, 2006, and 2007. Last season they placed second in this Series, with many of their team members moving on to Divisionals and Nationals.
Currently the Stone Monkeys Senior Team consists of a team of 17 climbers all of which are on a competition team. They are led by Team Coaches Deanna Lapen and Mary Acharon, and Assistant Coach Raynae Schmeiser. The team practices every Monday and Wednesday from 4-7pm. The team also practices on Thursdays twice per month.
The Stone Monkeys Junior Team practices on Tuesdays from 4-6pm. This team is coached by Suzy Jeffrey. The Junior Stone Monkeys are for those young climbers that want to climb, but cannot devote the time necessary to be on the Stone Monkeys Senior Team
